This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes SoCalWedding.Directory, a brand of The Wedding.Directory, Inc. (“SCAWD,” “Company,” “we,” or “us”) treats personal information on our websites and online platforms (collectively “Websites”). This Policy does not apply to information collected or used for employment-related or client-related purposes. The Company has separate, internal privacy practices and notices with regard to personal information that is collected from prospective, current, and former employees, job applicants, as well as clients using the website.

Types Of Information We Collect

We collect information from you and about you. Here are some examples of the information we may collect:

  • Contact Information. For example, we may collect your name, mailing address, telephone number and email address. We may also collect your mobile phone number.
  • Information You Submit. We may collect information when you send us a message through the “Get In Touch” form or similar features on our Websites. We may also collect other information you submit through an online comment or when you contact our sales or support teams.
  • User-Generated Content, i.e., photos, information about your events, any information you submit on the Company website, reviews you leave for vendors, and feedback or testimonials you provide about our Services
  • Business Information. For example, we may collect your business contact information. We may also collect information about your employer and your job title.
  • Demographic Information. We may collect demographic information such as your zip code.
  • Device Information. For example, we may collect the type of device you use to access our Websites. We may also collect your device identifier and IP address.
  • Account Information. Certain portions of the website may allow you to create a user account. In connection with that account, we may collect your user name and password.
  • Financial and transactional information, I.e.,business address, phone number, credit or debit card number, verification number, and expiration date, and information about your transactions and purchases with us generally secured by our third-party payment processors.
  • Commercial Information. We may collect personal information that could identify you and relates to the products or services in which you are interested, or have considered or purchased. We may also collect personal information about your purchasing habits, or consuming history or tendencies.
  • Usage Information. We may collect information regarding how you use the Websites. For example, we may collect information regarding what Website features are useful or most frequently used.
  • Information about others, i.e., if you use a “send to friend” tool (or similar feature) that allows you to send information to another person, or invite them to participate in an event, web site, registry or other property, or include their information within our products as part of your wedding planning experience (for example so they may receive save the date and RSVP notifications and wedding invitations) we will collect, at a minimum, the recipient’s email address. In providing this information, you represent that you are authorized to provide it.
  • Device information and identifiers, i.e., IP address; browser type and language; operating system; platform type; device type; software and hardware attributes; and unique device, advertising, and app identifiers.
  • Connection and usage data, e.g., information about files you download, domain names, landing pages, browsing activity, content or ads viewed and clicked, dates and times of access, pages viewed, forms you complete or partially complete, search terms, uploads or downloads, whether you open an email and your interaction with email content, access times, error logs, and other similar information.
  • Geolocation, i.e., city, state, country, and ZIP code associated with your IP address or derived through Wi-Fi triangulation; and, with your permission in accordance with your mobile device settings, and precise geolocation information from GPS-based functionality on your mobile devices.
  • Social media information, i.e., if you access the Services through a third-party connection or log-in, we may have access to information you provide to that social network such as your name, email address, friend list, photo, gender, location, and current city; and information you provide to us directly through our pages on social networking and blogging platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube).
  • Other Information. If you use our Websites, we may collect information about the browser you are using. We might look at what site you came from, or what site you visit when you leave us. If you use our app, we might look at how often you use the app and where you downloaded it.

How We Collect Your Information

Children Under 18

The Websites where this Statement is located are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable data from persons under the age of 18, and strive to comply with the provisions of COPPA (The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act). Marketing Communications:

You can opt out of receiving our marketing communications by using the unsubscribe link within each email. Note that, as long as you maintain an account with us or receive services, you will continue to receive administrative messages from us regarding your account and the services.

  • Cookies: You can adjust your browser to control cookies to require your affirmative acceptance for new cookies, automatically reject cookies and/or delete or disable existing cookies.   • Email Tools: You can also change your email settings to block the automatic download of images in email messages, as such images may contain technologies that help us understand how you interact with the message.

Our Do Not Track Policy:

  • Some browsers have “do not track” features that allow you to tell a website not to track you. These features are not all uniform. Consumer Privacy Rights

Depending on the laws of your local jurisdiction, you may have certain rights and choices with respect to your information. For example, under local laws, you may be able to ask us to:

We will consider all requests and provide our response within the time period stated by applicable law. Please note, however, that certain information may be exempt from such requests in some circumstances, which may include if we need to keep processing your information for our legitimate interests or to comply with a legal obligation. Privacy Information For California Residents

If you are a California resident, California law requires us to provide you with some additional information regarding your rights with respect to your “personal information” (as defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”)).

a. Your California Privacy Rights CCPA Rights Disclosure. If you are a California resident, the CCPA allows you to make certain requests about your personal information. Specifically, the CCPA allows you to request us to:

  • Inform you about the categories of personal information we collect or disclose about you; the categories of sources of such information; the business or commercial purpose for collecting your personal information; and the categories of third parties with whom we share/disclose personal information.
  • Provide access to and/or a copy of certain personal information we hold about you.
  • Delete certain personal information we have about you.
  • Provide you with information about the financial incentives that we offer to you, if any.

The CCPA further provides you with the right to not be discriminated against (as provided for in applicable law) for exercising your rights.

Please note that certain information may be exempt from such requests under California law. For example, we need certain information in order to provide the Services to you. We also will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before responding to a request, which may include, at a minimum, depending on the sensitivity of the information you are requesting and the type of request you are making, verifying your name, email address, and other account information. You are also permitted to designate an authorized agent to submit certain requests on your behalf. In order for an authorized agent to be verified, you must provide the authorized agent with signed, written permission to make such requests or a power of attorney. We may also follow up with you to verify your identity before processing the authorized agent’s request. b. Notice of Right to Opt Out of Sale of Personal Information

California residents may opt out of the “sale” of their personal information. California law broadly defines “sale” in a way that may include when we share your information with third parties to provide you with offers and promotions that we believe may be of interest to you. It also may include allowing third parties to receive certain information, such as cookies, IP address, and/or browsing behavior, to deliver targeted advertising on the Services or other services. Advertising, including targeted advertising, enables us to provide you certain content for free and allows us to provide you offers relevant to you.

Depending on what Services you use, we may provide the following categories of personal information to third parties for these purposes:

  • For payment processing purposes: device information and identifiers, connection and usage data, geolocation, and social media information.
  • For sharing with third parties to send you relevant offers and promotions: contact and account registration information; demographic and statistical information, user-generated content, and geolocation.

If you would like to opt out of SCAWD’s use of your information for such purposes that are considered a “sale” under California law, you can submit a sale opt-out request by emailing us at team@SoCalWedding.Directory with the Subject of “CCPA Opt Out of Sale of Personal Information.”

Please note we may take reasonable steps to verify your identity and the authenticity of the request, and that it may result in your inability to utilize our Services. Also note that we do not knowingly sell the personal information of minors under 16 years of age without legally-required affirmative authorization.

c. California “Shine the Light” Disclosure

The California “Shine the Light” law gives residents of California the right under certain circumstances to opt out of the sharing of certain categories of personal information (as defined in the Shine the Light law) with third parties for their direct marketing purposes. If you would like to opt out of such sharing, please use the sale opt out form noted above.

Security

We take appropriate steps to preserve the security of your personal information, including preventing them from being distorted, damaged or disclosed to unauthorized third-parties. We use reasonable means to safeguard personal information under our control. However, the Internet is not 100% secure. We cannot promise that your use of our Website will be completely safe. We encourage you to use caution when using the Internet.

Storage And Transfer Of Information

Information we maintain may be stored in or outside of the United States (“U.S.”). No information to our knowledge is stored in the European Union (“EU”). If you live outside of the U.S., you understand and agree that we may transfer your personal information to the U.S. or non-EU countries, in connection with the purposes set out in this Statement. The Websites are intended for use in the U.S., and are subject to the laws of our country, which may not provide the same level of protections as those in your own country.

If we collect your personal information in the EU to the U.S. or to another non-EU country, under circumstances that are within scope of General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), which are not in adequate jurisdictions, we take steps as required by applicable law to protect the privacy and security of personal information.
