The Claire Pettibone collection embodies the designer’s pioneering vision of effortless style and luxurious detailing infused with an enchanted spirit. Gentle hints of color, European laces, and graceful embroideries flutter and flow to make a woman look and feel like a goddess. Claire brings a deeply feminine sensibility and unique artistry to her ethereal, bohemian, and vintage inspired wedding gowns and bridal accessories. So how did it all begin?

As the daughter of artist parents, it was perhaps inevitable that Claire would enter a creative field. Not long after graduating from Otis Parsons School of Design, she met her husband Guy Toley on a blind date. The pair married in 1994, the same year they started their business. Those first years were a whirlwind for the young couple, from start-up out of their house launching Claire Pettibone luxury lingerie, to just a few years later when the collection became a favorite at Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, and boutiques all over the world.

Claire always had a love for the feminine and has been fascinated with the symbolism of the bride since attending her very first wedding at the age of 4 at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City. After a successful decade designing lingerie, she wanted something more, and in 2005, the couple introduced her Couture Bridal collection. Claire’s signature aesthetic inspired a real shift in wedding style. The garden, vineyard, rustic and vintage inspired weddings provided the perfect backdrop for the designer’s intricate yet effortless creations.

Brides across the globe became enamored with her style, and when Priscilla Chan chose an embroidered sheath gown for her 2012 nuptials to Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, Claire Pettibone became a household name. Celebrities including Twilight star Nikki Reed who married Ian Somerhalder, along with Cameron Diaz, Elizabeth Moss and Happily Grey trend-setter Mary Lawless Lee, adore Pettibone’s unique gowns and vintage-inspired style.

The company and Flagship Salon are housed in The Castle, a historic Los Angeles landmark built in 1928. Everything is made on-site in the design atelier, by a small, dedicated, and extremely skilled team. The fabrics are created by the world’s top embroidery and lace houses exclusively for Claire. She hand-sketches her ideas and carefully selects the threads, flowers, embroideries and laces that go into each design – each dress is truly, a work of art.

This small business continues to evolve with the designer’s collection of shoes for Bella Belle, veils to complete your bridal look, the latest introduction of Ready-to-Wed bridal separates for all your wedding-related events, and of course, exquisitely hand-made wedding dresses for very special brides all over the world. You can find the collection in some of the finest bridal salons world-wide, and if you pay a visit to the designer’s fairy-tale castle, you’re in for a magical treat!
